2) My score indicates that I have to work on... prepositions, verb phrases, dependent clauses, and complex sentences.
3) Strategies that indicated I have a good understanding of in number 2 are.. The way to signal nouns is by having a, the,an.The way to find a noun it has to be a person, place, thing, event,or idea. For adjectives the signal words for adjectives are my,your,his... it has to be a possessive pronoun. Action verbs indicate a physical or mental action. Subordinating conjunctions are words that join words, phrases, and clauses together like after,once,although..etc. Predicates have to have the verb and other words that are about the subject. For subjects the noun or object pronoun that the sentence is about. Direct object are only found with action verbs, ask who or what is receiving the action. Independent clauses make sense independently or on its own.Lastly my score indicates my grade with interrogative sentences which is a sentence that interrogates or asks a question.
4) Strategies I need to work on that indicated bad grade for #3 are.. prepositions they way specify a preposition is that it has to be a word that shows the relationship between its object and another word in the sentence. The way to signal verb phrases is by the predicate of the clause or sentence.A verb phrase can also be a phrase that functions as an adverb or adjective and contains a verb and its complements, objects, or modifies. A dependent clause will contain both a subject and a verb. This combination of words will not form a complete sentence. The last thing I need to work on is on a complex sentence,a complex sentence joins an independent clause with one or more dependent clauses. The dependent clauses can go first in the sentence followed by the independent clause. Grammer Reflection Semester II 1) My score indicates that I have a good understanding of... articles, nouns, adjectives, subordinating conjunctions, predicate subjects, direct objects, prepositions, interrogative and lastly exclamatory sentences.
2) My score indicates that I need to work on... verb phrases, independent clauses, dependent clauses, action verbs and complex sentences
3) What strategies in the future might you use to increase your score? I will increase my scores by using strategies on verb phrases, independent clauses, dependent clauses, action verbs and complex sentences. I will remember that verb phrases are words that show a action, being,or links a subject. That an independent clause is a sentence while a dependent clause is a group of words that contain a subject and verb but does not express a complete thought. A dependent clause cannot be a sentence. Action verbs are expressions that are physical or mental actions. The action verb tells us what the subject of our clause or sentence is doing physically or mentally.Lastly to understand complex sentences I will use the strategy of knowing that it will contain a clause or clauses.
4) Identify at least two areas where you have improved since first semester. Two areas I have improved in are finding prepositions and understanding how to find direct objects.
